I make things & love jewelry. You should too.

As far as I am concerned, jewelry is the simplest way to make yourself feel great. You can chuck on a pair of earrings and a couple of rings and feel put together and ready for whatever is comin’ at you.

I love jewelry. So much that I said it twice. Over the years of loving jewelry (which is since I was born), wearing jewelry, and eventually making jewelry, I picked up a few nuggets. This is where I share them. How to put looks together, how to get the right fit, how to maintain your pretties, and more.

Fabulous, I know.

I am 9. It was 1986. Want do you want from me.

Notice the silver bracelets I relieved my mother of. They really look fabulous with plastic springy ones.

Also, yes, my hair was blond and straight. Puberty happened and my hair was neither blond or straight afterword. I don’t know either.

But also

There is other stuff because, besides being a silversmith, I am an actor, journaler, sewist, mom, cooker of things, baker of cakes, and general hobby collector. As I said, the maker of things

There is this rule in product strategy/management that says I need to focus my product (this blog in this case) because otherwise, it will be lukewarm tea, which no one likes. I actively choose to ignore this rule. Which means I am going to post about more than jewelry on occasion.  (Uh… I spent many years doing the corporate thing… more below… I don’t know if I’ll post about that, though).

Mostly jewelry, though. Because I love it.

So what “about me” really?

Yep, the bio

I am Red Curl - I have spent 20 years doing web design, product management, and strategy at Fortune 500 companies. That’s where my big fancy college degrees lie. I have been in e-commerce exclusively for better than half that time. I’m pretty good at that stuff.

During that same 20 years, I figured out silversmithing, met a dude, married him, started a creative business, had some kids, put the creative business on hold, acted a bit, made coq au vin once, started the creative business again, and moved around a bit. Pretty much all of that stuff shows up here somewhere. No, I am not good at following rules. Like the one, I mentioned earlier about focusing on one thing on your website… I don’t like that one… or many others, either.

All the jewelry you see on this site was created by Joanne Burger, who owns the copyright. So just don’t okay.
